The lessons are incredibly practical–things every high schoolers should learn about. Each quarter teaches something different with an array of lessons included. Quarter One is all about the big picture and key skills such as savings, interest, taxes. Quarter Two covers budgeting–all from a biblical worldview. Quarter Three is about making financial decisions like buying a car, housing, and preparing for a career. And in Quarter Four, they will learn about lots of real-life application and investments. They learn about applying math skills to daily life, converting measurements, investment options, retirement and more.

Rather than being purely theoretical, it’s designed to prepare students for adult responsibilities with confidence and competence.

How We’re Using Master Books Consumer Math

This year, my high school daughter is using Consumer Math as part of her senior year coursework. While she’s already completed algebra and geometry, I wanted her final years of high school to include some truly useful math skills—things she’ll carry into adult life.

She’s excited (and a little curious!) about learning how interest works, how to budget for real expenses, and how things like car insurance and credit cards actually function. As a parent, I love knowing she’ll be equipped to step into adulthood with both confidence and discernment.
