Page 25// The Root

Some people have said that going home next week for a visit is just what I need

It will be fun, yes.  I’m excited to see everyone and catch up.  But just what I need? No. Not really.

In a way I find that comment to be patronizing of my true feelings.

I’m not into Band-Aids, or temporary fixes, or sweeping things under the rug.

I’m into the roots of things, the true solutions, the ultimate result.

Also, we caught another mouse today.  I am officially moving.  Seriously.

  1. Oh dang! I'm so sorry to hear about the mouse. That just stinks…really bad! Thought about you this evening when I poured some Bailey's in my coffee. All I need now is a good fire in the fire pit. Take care. xo

  2. I'm de-lurking to say that I'm so very sorry about the mouse. That would put me over.the.edge. We have family in Asheville. It's an amazing city; I hope you are able to find a home there that you know is God's place for you in this season.

  3. Oh, no. I have recently discovered your wonderful writing. Your honesty and transparency is a treasure. I hope this weekend brings you rest, and a list of living options. Another mouse. Argh. That is so hard.

  4. So sorry about the mouse! Have a wonderful party today and enjoy your time with your family back home. And yes, better to get to the root of the problem instead of just cover it up.

I love your shoes- those are so adorable.

  5. I don't think it's meant to be patronizing, but sometimes just getting out of the current location can reorient our thinking, can put things in a different light. I'm usually stuck in Aberdeen ALL YEAR except when we go see my parents. But a couple weeks ago I took a day trip with the kids out of town and it was refreshing and relaxing just to GET AWAY and see new things and breath different air. For me, it was just what I needed. 🙂

  6. Yep, it's always wise to get to the 'root' or else that 'weed' will resurface.
I've been praying for you friend. I absolutely CANNOT believe you saw another beastly creature. Maybe he was just adding to the Halloween party decor? Thinking of you as you have a fun day planned.
And yes, maybe you should move . . to MONTANA! I'm pretty sure we don't have mice.
    Love you.
