Delightful Advent Calendars that will make your Kids Smile
It’s almost December and with the turning of another calendar page, December 1st means the countdown to Christmas has begun! Advent calendars are a great way to build excitement and anticipation of the Christmas season. Kids love waking up and opening a little door of the advent calendar to a small gift each morning. In the past we have done the very simple advent calendars from Aldi or Trader Joe’s with a little chocolate each day. But this year I thought it would be fun to mix it up a little bit and grab my girls an advent calendar with small gifts inside.
I put together a list of great options for boys, girls, and teens. Everything from sensible gifts they’ll use to fun food advent calendar ideas too!
Advent Calendar Ideas Your Kids Will Love!
Bonne Mamon— this one is so fun if you have a teen who loves making tea and treats. A new little jam or jelly each day–so sweet!

Bookish Gifts–If you have a child who loves to read but doesn’t really need 24 new books (ha!) this is a great alternative!
Walker’s Shortbread–I LOVE these cookies! Very simple ingredients too! Lovely little wintery treat to enjoy all month!
National Geographic Science Calendar— 24 days of science experiments and gemstones to observe! So fun!
Harry Potter Hot Chocolate Mixes–Admittedly, I am no Harry Potter expert, but my kids sure are! This calendar includes color-changing hot chocolate mixes–so cool!
Mini Brands Toys— my daughter is obsessed with these minis! They’re so cute and fun to collect. These are all tiny toys but the one below is all tiny foods.
Mini Brands Foods— tiny microwave popcorn?! Of course!
ChapStick Calendar—great option if you have multiple kids and want them to share one calendar. Each kid would get several chapsticks to last the whole winter.
Fishing Lure Calendar— so fun for a boy who loves to fish!
Candy Land Slime Calendar— if you have a kid who loves slime like I do, this is so perfect.
Burt’s Bees—we love Burt’s Bees and we’re always looking for our chapsticks.

KiwiCo Advent Calender—We adore KiwiCo in our house and a little project each day for a whole month sounds like the most fun!
Pukka Teas—so perfect for a teen girl or the kid who loves tea. Also love that this is a consumable and won’t leave behind any stuff!
National Geographic Gemstones— my kids have always been interested in cool rocks. They would have loved this one when they were smaller!
Lego Friends—these are so much fun to play with…I wonder how hard it would be to be patient and only open one per day?!
