A Multi-Sensory Approach to Science: A Look into No Sweat Nature Study Membership

Today I’m excited to show you a peek into my No Sweat Nature Study Membership.

Children are natural learners. As John Holt says in his book How Children Learn, “we do not need to motivate children into learning, by wheedling, bribing, or bullying. We do not need to keep picking away at their minds to make sure they are learning. What we need to do, and all we need to do, is bring as much of the world as we can into the school and the classroom; give children as much help and guidance as they need and ask for; listen respectfully when they feel like talking; and then get out of the way. We can trust them to do the rest.”

Children are curious by nature, observing and learning through the world around them. This should be encouraging to us as we endeavor to teach our kids well!

However, all children can learn a little differently. It’s not a one size fits all concept, and just to mix it up a little and make you feel crazy some days, you can even have many different learning styles in one household! It’s easy to believe you need several different curriculums to fit each of your children’s specific learning needs. However, one of the things I love most about No Sweat Nature Studies is the many different opportunities for learning within one lesson.

What’s Inside No Sweat Nature Study Membership

No Sweat Nature Study Membership: What I’m Loving

This membership beautifully provides learning opportunities for all the different learning styles! Here’s why I love it:

  • Visual learning with interactive live lessons with Mrs. Cindy and live quizzes at the end of each lesson.
  • Textual Learning with TONS of supplemental resources such as curated book lists, printable word searches, and research based project ideas. Each lesson has the child creating nature journal pages that help with observation, art skills, note-taking, and diagramming.
  • Auditory learning with supplemental podcast episodes to enhance learning. Great for when you have to be in the car but still want learning to happen!
  • Tactile learning with hands-on activities like nature walks and experiment and object lesson ideas.
  • The Video Library is EXPANSIVE! So many classes you can watch and rewatch if your child is interested in a certain topic.
  • My kids’ Nature Journals, after just a few lessons of No Sweat Nature Studies, look amazing! SO beautiful to flip through!

How We’ll Be Using No Sweat Nature Study Membership This Year

No matter what kind of learner you have, No Sweat Nature Studies is sure to have something that will enhance their learning about the many science subjects they cover. Here’s how we use these classes in our homeschool:

We hardly can tune into the classes live because we have other obligations on Tuesdays, I love to choose a topic and cover it for a whole month. I will scroll back in the Video Library and choose the topic that fits our fancy for the next month and then plan several months out. I gather books on the topics–book lists are included in the supplemental packet for each lesson–and then I choose several afternoons per month to watch the video, read the books, and complete a beautiful nature journal entry. If we can fit in a nature walk where we look for the item covered in the lesson, we do that too.

We have been enjoying Cindy’s nature lessons for over 16 years now! I hope you will try them out too!
