The Ruthless Truth About Being a Mom

Sometimes being a mom is sheer bliss. Your kids are (sorta) behaving, dinner is in the oven, and it feels like you may have just hit your stride. But that’s not the truth about being a mom–we learn things along the way, we try to work on our shortcomings, but we never really master it. Try as we might.

The truth about being a mom is that it’s hard–really hard. But it’s so good. Really good. It wrecks us in the most beautiful ways–refining us, making us better humans.

This last episode of the season is about what motherhood is looking like for me right now. How looking at my oldest right now is equal parts heartbreaking and excitement, knowing he only has one. more. year left of high school.
