How to Easily Check off Your Christmas Shopping List + Support Small Businesses

This year has been hard for a lot of us in many ways, but some feeling the effects of this year more than anyone are the small businesses in our communities. When you support small businesses, you support someone’s dream and dedication to working hard.

I reached out to my Instagram community and gathered the names of their favorite small businesses and added them to my list. We will be Christmas shopping anyway, so let’s support some of those who have been shut down this year.

The following list is divided into people groups for easy shopping. If you need to grab your father-in-law something, there’s a section for that! Need something for your teen? That is there too. Or your hard-to-buy-for cousins that always find the best gifts? Keep scrolling!

Support small businesses + Shopping Small for Everyone On Your List!

Let's support small businesses well this Christmas season and do our shopping with them! Here are ideas for everyone on your list!

Support Small Businesses and give to the men in your life:

Stone Arch Tattoo Shop: If you have a guy in your life that likes fishing, tattoos, and/or the outdoors, this is a great place to find something cool. Stone Arch is Jarrod’s tattoo place–he has many tattoos–and he loves them. Jarrod has this hoodie and it is so warm and great quality. Come to think of it, he has a lot of the t-shirts too. Great guy gifts!

Swanky Badger: TONS of leather items you can personalize and give at great prices. Wallets, watches, and more! I love this dopp kit for men and adding the personalization just makes it so special.

Clayton + Crume is a leather shop started by two guys in Kentucky. Their products are gorgeous! So manly and classic. Wallets, belts, bags and more. I got Jarrod this sunglasses strap last year. And the coolest thing is you can add leather stamped personalization to all their products.

Hope Outfitters is one of my very favorite finds of 2020. They sell gear like t-shirts, sweatshirts, keychains, and more and 100% of their proceeds go to a cause. Earlier this year, their proceeds went to a pro-life organization. Right now, proceeds are going to Our Rescue, an amazing organization for ending child trafficking.

For guys, I love this sweatshirt among so many other things. Also great for any teens on your list too!

Black Rifle Coffee is a veteran run and veteran supporting company. They have a coffee club where you receive your choice of coffee each month. Or you can do one-time orders of their amazing coffee–I’m actually drinking it as I write this.

Also, very cool merch for the guy in your life that needs a gift too! Very fun gift if you have any veterans to buy for this year!

Thirteen22 is a great shop for men (and they do have some women’s stuff too) based on Proverbs 13:22. I love their hoodies!

Shop for Sisters, Moms, and Friends and Support Small Businesses

The Winery at Sovereign Estate: Operated in my neck of the woods! Creating gorgeous gift baskets they will ship to you. I’ve spoken to them, and they suggested calling in to create your gifts and/or gift baskets. Great for mothers-in-law, sisters, friends, and or that hard-to-buy-for person in your life!

Primp Boutique: One of my very favorite local shops. I get at least one gift here every year. Cute sweaters like this one would make a great gift!

The General Store of Minnetonka: This store is insane and much too close to my house!! It’s HUGE and offers something for EVERYONE on your list–in-laws, husbands, teens, kids, friends, and more.

Sixth Scents Essential Oils: This has been one of my favorite small companies for about a year now. You can either subscribe to their monthly essential oil box OR purchase single oils.

Ginger P. Designs is the cutest litter paperie shop I’ve seen! It’s not too far from my house, so I’ve been to the shop to check it out myself and there are so many great gift ideas for friends and more! Notebooks, planners, calendars, cards, stickers, and tons more. I’ll take this simple meal planner if anyone’s shopping for me! 😉

Olive + June is a small business for doing your own gorgeous manicures at home. I purchased the mani system a few months ago, and my friends and I have been doing our nails once a week ever since.

It’s also a great teen girl gift too. Sophia and I have been doing our nails together a ton and you can get sticker nail art, which is really fun too.

You can either purchase the whole kit or individual products and polishes. Get $10 off your order of $50 when you use my link!

Patina is a locally owned store in my neck of the woods. They have EVERYTHING. Great kitchen gifts, games, puzzles decor, and more!

Putting together a gift for anyone on your list is super easy here. I would do a cool board plus this book! Wouldn’t that be a great gift!?

Legacy Toys is a local toy store that literally has everything. Games, creative toys, Lego, Playmobil–all the things! If you’re shopping for any specific toys or games, stop here first!

I love getting my teens new games each Christmas! Legacy Toys has TONS of games and they’re super helpful if you need to chat with them to make any decisions.

More Gift Ideas for Teens:

Universal Yums is the COOLEST gift for teens if you’re looking for something really different and unique. This is a company started by a couple in New Jersey with only $4000–their life savings. They create boxes of SNACKS–what teen doesn’t love snacks!?–from other countries.

We’ve been receiving Universal Yum boxes for several months and have tasted treats from South Korea, Italy, Russia, Thailand, and Columbia. This is something we love to do as a family after dinner one night a month. It’s so much fun and a great way to learn about other countries! It’s also very reasonably priced which is great too!

Shopping Small for Kids + Babies

Hearthsong: Such a great company devoted to unique indoor and outdoor play. Vera is getting these adjustable roller skates this year from Hearthsong!

Magic Cabin: I have loved this company forever! They are very “Waldorf-y” and offer beautiful products for kids and families. I love the idea of giving this songbird feeder with a field guide for setting up outside your window this winter and watching the birds in the mornings.

They also have a Christmas shop, which has amazing ideas!

Holiday Mini Fairy

Raddish Kids Cooking is an awesome monthly gift started by a sweet mom of two in her garage! She loved teaching kids to cook so she started her own monthly cooking club. Vera does this and she LOVES it! There’s nothing more satisfying than creating a meal for your family and she takes such pride on those meals she cooks once a month.

Each kit comes with recipes based on a cool theme like–spooky October or Snowed in for December. They also include games to play over dinner, a play list to listen to while cooking and eating, lessons to dig in further, and a cool cooking tool so your child is creating their own stash of kitchen utensils. I love that!

More Gifts for Anyone:

MPIX: I love to give photo gifts to family. Grandparents love stuff like that. Calendars, framed photos, or even a photo book is an awesome gift. I love MPIX for their quality! This year, I ordered our Christmas cards and prints to give at MPIX. Their photo books look amazing too and I think that will be my after Christmas project!

Edward Riojas Art Prints + More: How cool to give the gift of art!? Such a great idea for someone that is hard to buy for. This man is the father-in-law of a reader. She told me he has been taking care of his mother all year who is very ill.

This print jumped out at me because I’ve been reading through the book of Luke this month and just covered this parable. Isn’t it gorgeous!?
