Homeschooling Day in the Life: Rebecca, homeschooling mom of teenagers!

Day in the Life Rebecca

A homeschool day in the life looks different almost every day, right? Over on our Instagram page, we love to give you a peek into lots of homeschool days regardless of how they change day to day.

Today, we’re going to give you a peek into the homeschool day in the life of Rebecca, homeschooling mom to three teenagers, who recently made a cross-country move!

We can all learn and be inspired by one another, regardless of our homeschool approach. It’s not about looking good for social media, it’s about the connection going on inside our homeschool walls and sharing with others what works for us.

We might all homeschool a little differently, but we can always look for ideas from each other that inspire, encourage and equip us in our own homeschool days. So each week we create blog posts for you to access later of each of those “days in the life”. We hope you keep coming back for more inspiration. Keep going, mama! These days at home are so worth it!

Meet Rebecca

Day in the Life Rebecca

Rebecca @thefamilylegacyproject is a homeschooling mom of three kids, who recently moved from California to Tennessee. One of her favorite things to do is sit with a cup of coffee and a good book. Rebecca has been a lover of homeschooling for 8 years, and a lover of Jesus her entire life. She loves to encourage other families in their homeschooling journey.

Mornings in the Word

Mornings Rebecca

After moving across the country a few months ago, my time in the word in the mornings has become even more important to me. It’s grounding me in what’s MOST important. We were able to plug right in to an amazing couple’s Bible study and together we are reading through the entire Bible this year. Today, we are in Numbers.

Curriculum

Curriculum

This is Avery, our 6th grader, and here’s her curriculum for this year!!

We’ve kind of doubled up with language arts. We joined a co-op here in TN when we moved so we are completing our usual curriculum and then added in Following Narnia.
Math: we do online
Science: same as language arts–we are finishing zoology, and added in earth science with our co-op
History: modern history and reading Number the Stars right now.

Avery competed in a mock trial team this year and LOVED it. They just finished out their competitions two weeks ago.

Mock Trial

Mock trial Rebecca

Will has been competing in mock trial for three years now, and this was Avery’s first year. There are so many reasons why we love it. Public speaking ✔️ team work ✔️ learning about our judicial system ✔️. I highly recommend it!

Family Rebecca

Thanks for hanging out with me today! You can find me over @thefamilylegacyproject posting about everyday homeschooling topics and other encouragements. I can’t wait to meet you!

Thank you so much to Rebecca for sharing your family’s day with us!
