Picking the Dress
My sister is getting married in September. I will be her matron of honor–although I prefer the “maid-of-honor” term because I feel matron reeks of old and frumpy and it sort of cramps my style. So…I have to find a dress. She’s given us a general guideline of color and that’s it. She wants it to have a vintage vibe too.
I’ve been pouring over ideas when I get a free minute to just peruse the internet. I keep going back to Shabby Apple again and again.
I love their dresses. They are just gorgeous. They all have that vintage clothing feel that I love.

It is hard to know what to pick when we have no clue what to really expect. I hate having to dress shop and I would need strict details on what the bride would or would not want. I think that your choices are adorable but Iโm not sure any really scream matron of honor.
Oh man, I love #3! I do wear a lot of dresses…kinda comes along with being Mrs. Pastor, ha ha, but I've been to Belk once or twice and I know they have nice dresses. Although, nothing like Shabby Apple. I've heard Mod Cloth has awesome vintage style dresses too. But I'm sure you'll look amazing in anything you pick!
I love the first one. It photographs so well!
target. it's all i know. if a dress isn't at target i'll never see it. LOL. call it lazy or cheap or both. ; ) i can't wait to see what you pick!
Another great site
is eShakti.com, where you
can pick the length
of your item as well
as the neckline and
if you want sleeves
they will add them.
Almost like custom
made….and the prices
are very reasonable!
They carry sweet
bridesmaids dresses
and are giving away $25
gift cards if you register
with them, now.
I also like Modcloth
and Boden–and I
think there are some
great sales going on,
now.
Have fun choosing!

Ohhh, the third dress is beautiful!! I wonder if they ship to the UK…………..
Oh man! I love Shabby Apple! My reward after I lose the baby is a new Shabby Apple dress! Have fun choosing!
I love dress number 3 the best, also. The only one I don't care for is number 2 since it has so much going on. My sister is getting married in March and I have no idea at this point what she is thinking about for dresses. She also wants a vintage feel for her wedding.
Oh, And I agree with Amy about Mod Cloth. I love their clothes! Never ordered but love them. Some do look a tad short though ๐
Love #3. So simple and elegant and a great style to compliment the bride. 1 and 2 are nice but the details may cause them to be more a focal point than an accent. You want to not detract from the lady of the day. ๐
So fun! I love dress three! I too think you should take a gander at mod cloth- but beware- for tall girls like us many of their dresses are a bit short. And I know how you like to 'bust a move' at weddings.
I actually like #3. It looks simple, yet classic and comfortable. Because who wants to be uncomfortable on a long, happy day? ๐ Just my two cents there.
Love all of those, I like some of the dresses on Mod Cloth to some have a vintage vibe
LOVE dress #1!!! Gorgeous.
