Homeschooling Day in the Life: Julia, Charlotte Mason Homeschooling Mom to Four in Wisconsin
A homeschool day in the life looks different almost every day, right? Over on our Instagram page, we love to give you a peek into lots of homeschool days regardless of how they change day to day.
Today, we’re going to give you a peek into the homeschool day in the life of Julia, Charlotte Mason homeschooling mom to four in Wisconsin!
We can all learn and be inspired by one another, regardless of our homeschool approach. It’s not about looking good for social media, it’s about the connection going on inside our homeschool walls and sharing with others what works for us.We might all homeschool a little differently, but we can always look for ideas from each other that inspire, encourage and equip us in our own homeschool days. So each week we create blog posts for you to access later of each of those “days in the life”. We hope you keep coming back for more inspiration. Keep going, mama! These days at home are so worth it!

Meet Julia
Julia @thesewildknights is a wife, and mother to four children, ages 8, 5, 3, and 1. They have been homeschooling since the beginning with a Charlotte Mason style approach, and truly love the freedom they have in it.
Julia enjoys reading, and they are starting a new journey with raising chicks and starting a garden. She enjoys anything that gets her outdoors!
Different Resources We Use
We love pulling from several different resources. Some of our favorites:
- Ambleside Online
- Treehouse Schoolhouse
- The Good and The Beautiful
- Beautiful Feet Books
Math Time
Gathering around the table for math time is a fun part of our day. It has easily become a favorite subject for my engineer minded son. We keep our lessons short and sweet, working together on new concepts. After that, he does a quick solo review to solidify what we’ve learned.
It’s all about teamwork and that has made math fun for us! Also, chocolate chips help with motivation 😉
A Charlotte Mason Approach
Our style follows a Charlotte Mason approach to homeschooling. My favorite way to implement this is by gathering around the table, usually with a snack and some tea.
I cherish family-style learning and carefully select books and curriculum that facilitate this approach.
Keeping three very busy boys seated at the table while their baby sister crawls all over the place isn’t always easy. However, with time and consistency, we’ve managed to make it work. AND always keep snacks at the ready!
Thank You
Thank you all for following along with me here. It has been fun meeting you here and I’d love to continue to share a glimpse in our home over at @thesewildknights
