Homeschooling Day in the Life: Chantel, Homeschooling Mom of Three Children, Living in Texas

A homeschool day in the life looks different almost every day, right? Over on our Instagram page, we love to give you a peek into lots of homeschool days regardless of how they change day to day.
Today, we’re going to give you a peek into the homeschool day in the life of Chantel, homeschooling mom of three children, living in Texas.
We can all learn and be inspired by one another, regardless of our homeschool approach. It’s not about looking good for social media, it’s about the connection going on inside our homeschool walls and sharing with others what works for us.

We might all homeschool a little differently, but we can always look for ideas from each other that inspire, encourage and equip us in our own homeschool days. So each week we create blog posts for you to access later of each of those “days in the life”. We hope you keep coming back for more inspiration. Keep going, mama! These days at home are so worth it!
Meet Chantel

Chantel @homeschoolinhomemaker is a homeschooling mom of three, living in Texas.
She is an early bird that loves the quiet stillness of an early morning and a good cup of coffee. When it comes to homeschooling she loves all of the freedom in their schedule and being the first to witness all of their milestones.
Bible Study Basket

My Bible Study Basket: For 2025 I am soaring through the Bible in a year with my Bible study group.
I usually have several studies in the lineup, but for 2025 it’s slow down, one study at a time for me. A time to be present in His presence and understanding His Word on a deeper level.
Waking up early while it’s quiet and still is the best time for me to commune with my Father. 2025: Word before the world.
Psalms 63:1-3 (KJV) 1 [A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.] O God, thou [art] my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 2 To see thy power and thy glory, so [as] I have seen thee in the sanctuary. 3 Because thy lovingkindness [is] better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Children + Chores

“We are raising capable children.”
Each morning my arrows complete the morning portion of their choir charts before our lessons begin. They have a dry erase marker to check off tasks as they finish.
Colossians 3:23-24 is our focus for our charts. I’ve created charts and zone chore cards to keep them on track and organized.
Morning Collective

Once chores are completed we move into our morning collective.
Each child has a basket with their items needed to complete their lessons for the day. Another great way to keep them organized.
After we tidy the homeschool room, I reload their baskets for the next day.
All the Food!

Breakfast • Lunch • Dinner • Snacks
Each meal you see is planned and prepped by us. Even shopping for items we turn our trip into a scavenger hunt.
My children all help in the kitchen to prepare food for the family.
I’m asked all the time “what’s the most expensive thing about homeschool?” In our homeschool it’s food & snacks 🤗
Our Homeschool Space

We have a designated homeschool space (used to be our dining room). Is it required? No. However, this mama needed a space to keep all things homeschool in one location, so I created a space that works for my family.
Remember to be present, don’t compare, and do what works best for your family. Trust me, it will flow and flourish.
A Few Last Words
Thank you so much to Chantel for sharing your family’s day with us!
