Homeschooling Day in the Life: Ayla, Homeschooling Mom of Three, Living in a Renovated RV in British Columbia

A homeschool day in the life looks different almost every day, right? Over on our Instagram page, we love to give you a peek into lots of homeschool days regardless of how they change day to day.

Today, we’re going to give you a peek into the homeschool day in the life of Ayla, homeschooling mom of three, living in a renovated RV in British Columbia!

We can all learn and be inspired by one another, regardless of our homeschool approach. It’s not about looking good for social media, it’s about the connection going on inside our homeschool walls and sharing with others what works for us.

We might all homeschool a little differently, but we can always look for ideas from each other that inspire, encourage and equip us in our own homeschool days. So each week we create blog posts for you to access later of each of those “days in the life”. We hope you keep coming back for more inspiration. Keep going, mama! These days at home are so worth it!

Meet Ayla

Ayla @thewilldernessfamily is a mom of 3, married to her best friend for almost 13 years. They live in an rv they renovated in the beautiful province of British Columbia. They’re currently stationary and have been homesteading for almost 10 years but their dream is to travel with their kids and puppy, Timber. They also have chickens and a horse, who stay home when they travel.

They’ve been homeschooling for 6 years now and their kids have never gone to school. They’re in grades 2, 4, and 5.

What is Home Education?

Home education doesn’t always look like school, because education isn’t confined to a classroom. Our kids are learning all day long, through everything they do and everywhere they go. What ways do your children learn every day?

5 Things I Wish I Had Known Before I Started Homeschooling

I was homeschooled until I went to college. I’ve always known what it’s like to be a homeschooler. But I had never seen it from a parent’s perspective until I had kids of my own. And it’s the hardest but also one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done.

Quiet Time

Quiet time is a daily essential at our house. It reminds us to slow down and be intentional about resting during our busy days. It gives us all a chance to reset and get into a good headspace for the afternoon ahead. And it gives this mama a break from the constant chaos that comes with raising 3 active children. 🙌🏼

Thank You!

Thank you Ayla

Thank you so much for coming along on this DITL. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have! Our kids are all tucked into bed and it’s time to wind down and get some sleep.

If you liked what you saw today, I’d love to see you over @thewilldernessfamily. 🫶🏻 I share outdoorsy, homeschool content with a side of homesteading AND because we’re in an rv, you’ll also get to follow our travels this summer.

Thank you so much to Ayla for sharing your family’s day with us!
