How We Use Around the World with Picture Books in our Homeschool
I am so excited to share our very favorite geography picture books with you today. If you’re looking for a fun way to dive into studying different countries with your kids, Around the World with Picture Books from Beautiful Feet Books. We have been using Around the World with Picture Books volume I and II over the last school year and this school year. We LOVE it, so in this post, I’m sharing how we are using these geography picture books, what we’ve studied and plan to study, and why we love this curriculum!
Beautiful Feet Books has been a staple in our homeschool for years now. You an read about the books on character and history that we loved as well.
The great thing about BFB is you can adjust it so easily to fit your family’s needs. Sometimes we use the curriculum guide and sometimes we don’t. Sometimes we read the entire stack of books in the curriculum, and sometimes we pick and choose. We know that each book is going to be quality, the rest is up to us to shape the curriculum around our homeschool.

What is Around the World with Picture Books
So far, Beautiful Feet Books has produced two volumes of Around the World with picture books, as well as one for the US. This curriculum is comprised of a teacher’s manual with instructions on how to teach each lesson, recipes, ideas for further reading, and more ideas. It also comes with a pile of beautiful picture books.
Each of the two volumes covers different countries. The books provided and recommended cover a variety of topics pertaining to the countries: music, art, food, folktales, inventions, famous figures, and more.
How We Use Around the World With Picture Books
This is one of my favorite things about Beautiful Feel Books; you can adapt this curriculum to fit your schedule, your child’s learning needs, and you can even work on it alongside other curriculum, which is what we did.
All school year, we learned about church history and missionary stories. We used THIS curriculum to learn about missionaries. With each missionary, we also grabbed our book stack from Around the World with picture books to read alongside the country that the current missionary served in. It was a great way to connect geography and our history and missionary studies. I love when it works out that way!
