A Day in the Life of Homeschool Mama Jenny
A Day in the Life of Jenny, Homeschool Mama of Three
Hi friends! I’m Jenny, mama of three wild ones (10, 6, and 4). I am a wedding and family photographer. I love to spend time outdoors and explore new places. This is our third year homeschooling and we absolutely love it!
We live life a little different. A few years ago, my husband and I decided we were ready for a new adventure. After months of planning, we sold it all, purchased a travel trailer, and hit the road! We have been working, homeschooling, and traveling full-time in our 26′ travel trailer for a little bit over a year now. This adventure has been incredible. We have visited many states and have made some amazing friends.

Setting Our Own Pace in the Morning
Good morning Learning Well Community! We are so excited to share our day with you all!
A little bit about our mornings… we are not morning people, in fact the kids are sleeping as I type this. Our time zones are often changing so now we just follow our own schedule. We used to be so strict with bedtime routines and that has totally changed since moving in to our tiny home on wheels. We also do slow do mornings which means that sometimes we don’t start school until about 10ish.
This is our home, tiny right? But we love it and it’s so perfect for us. It has taken us to so many places!
Now off to make our favorite breakfast. We probably make this at least 3 times a week. Can you guess what it is? What’s your favorite breakfast?
A Big Breakfast to Start Our Days
Well now that the chaos of breakfast is over we can move on with our day… we normally eat a big breakfast, pancakes, eggs, and bacon for today, so it does take a big part of our morning. We are totally okay with that…
Connection is the Joy of Homeschooling
One of my favorite things about homeschooling is being able to spend one on one time with each of our wild ones. While G and I read together, the boys get to play and listen to an audiobook.
Morning Work Time
After morning time we split… normally G will do math inside while I work outside with the boys, but it was way too cold this morning. How’s the weather where you are?
Also, M, our four year old, decided to “save” his school for tomorrow so he’s just hanging out today. He usually does school twice a week though.
Reading for a Relaxing Evening of Learning
We rarely do “school” this late into the evening, but with yesterday being a travel day we took today extra slow… and reading never feels like “school” anyway.
Exploring Leads to Learning Naturally
Evening walk with the wild ones. This is how most of our learning happens… letting them be curious and ask all the questions. Where’s all the water? Will it come back? What happened to this bird? And so many more questions. I was actually trying to decide which unit study to start next and it looks like it will be water and our world.
Organizing a Tiny Space
I had a few people ask about homeschool organization in a tiny space. This is our homeschool corner. We only keep the books that we actually read. Getting rid of books or leaving them in storage was hard for us. #tinyliving We have these amazing lockers that hold most of our school supplies and games. We also store a few more books above the sofa. I added those pictures on stories.
Bedtime with Dada and a Little Me Time
I’ll be honest by 8:30 p.m. I’m all checked out so it’s up to dada to get the kids to bed. They love that this is their time and I love it because I get some ME time. This is when I get to do whatever I want, like do the dishes or get some work done… this is also when I fill out our planner. I work backwards, so I write down everything we did for the day. Since our days are always different I rather do it this way.
Thank you all for following along and thank you so much @overatalicias for giving us this space to share and learn from others. Have a good night!
Thank you so much to Jenny for sharing their family’s day with us!
