Happy Day Challenge: Wear it Loud and Proud (and a gift for you!)

I so wish I had a photo of my Grandmother right now, but I’m writing this post last minute and didn’t have time to find one. Not like a recent photo, but a 1950’s photo when she was wearing her netted hat, heels, and A-line dresses.

My Grandmother Catherine, Sophia Catherine’s namesake, was a knockout. She was like a real Betty Draper. She loved to shop and loved all the latest fashions, but she was also a beautiful seamstress and sewed some gorgeous things. I have one of the dresses she hand-sewed and it’s one of the most special things I own. She was a diva…she subscribed to Vogue until the day she died…one month before Jack was born. ๏ปฟ
Catherine’s philosophy on life was this: If you’re wearing lipstick (the redder, the better) you will rock that day’s socks off.  She phrased it a little different than me, but I’m pretty close. ๏ปฟ

I used to think I couldn’t wear bright lipstick, but with the recent comeback in reds and bright pinks I’ve decided to wear it…loud and proud.
I did an experiment last week…I wore my red every day of the week…even the day I decided to wear sweats and clean bathrooms. Just taking the .05 seconds to slap it on made me feel better about myself. Catherine knew what she was talking about.๏ปฟ

If you’re thinking: “my skin is the wrong color for bright” “my hair and eyes aren’t suited for red” you are wrong, my friend.
Just slap a little bit of lipstick on and it’ll be alright!
Wear bright red this week.
Snap yo-self some sweet pics.
