A Look @ My Summer Plan

You're probably expecting a post about our beach weekend, or Sophia's first ballet recital, or my parent's visit (blog about it for gosh sakes, right!?). But here's the deal...I've got to get down to business first.

I saw this pin on pinterest the other day and it is so completely me. So me.

We did the whole "hooray it's summer" thing for a few weeks, had company for a while, and had two long weekends in a row. Now it's time for a little routine...but fun routine...Summer routine :)
Several weeks back, I showed you my Six-Week plan. I cannot tell you how this focused me. I planned the last six weeks of school, all my meals, all the projects I wanted to get done, and a cleaning schedule. It helped me so much!!

So yes, you guessed it...it's time for a Summer Plan.

Since I went through my planner pretty thoroughly in April HERE, I'm not going to do all that again. But here is a list of the sections in my planner. I use the three-ring binder that Martha sells at Staples. There's red, turquoise, and a few other colors. I love the size of it...not too big, but not too small. It fits all my stuff.  And it fits in my purse, but it's still big enough I don't go cross-eyed trying to fit words on the teensy calendar.

I'm devoting this whole week to talking about my Summer Plan. I had a lot of response to my Six-Week plan and this time I'm including even more details and printables for you to do it too!

First off today is the calendar.

Disclaimer: My camera is in MAJOR time out right now. It's being super naughty and I'm sending it to boarding school tomorrow and they better straighten her out, or she not welcome here anymore!! Her misbehavior and inability to submit to the focus's authority is the reason for these blurry pictures. Shame on her!!

We're not big "Summer activity" people. We've done baseball all summer, swimming lessons, this and that and it's just not worth it to me. We do, however, sign our kids up for one camp each plus VBS. To keep my calendar straight while planning, I decided to use this cute washi tape I had on hand to block out dates and make it easy to see what's what at a glance.

The next section of my planner is the daily section. Here I have my cleaning schedule, blog schedule, fitness plan, and my to-do sheets.

Here is my new weekly cleaning schedule for the summer. I love the idea of doing one cleaning chore a day, plus your regular things (making beds, dishes, etc.) to lighten the load of cleaning. I typed up a list of chores that I'll follow this summer.

I also made one just for you!! If you like to download your own, click the button below.

Next in this section in my Summer Blog Schedule. Please don't mistake me; I am not a blogging robot. There is feeling and heart behind this blog. I do not have the next 12 weeks of blog posts planned out. BUT I do need a place to jot down my ideas. I always write this in pencil and switch things around as needed. It helps me keep my thoughts sorted out. Like right now I have about 50 posts in my head and need to get them written down or I'll forget...it's a common problem for near-30-year-olds...forgetfulness.

So I also made y'all a blog schedule list too...your brain can thank me later. (preferably with Starbucks ;))

I'm stopping there for now, but you'll want to come back on Wednesday and Friday for the rest of the Master Summer Plan. Fitness inspiration (that sounded funny coming from me), Summer fun list, more printables, a whole summer menu, even a summer soundtrack...ya, you heard me right. You're gonna want to come back :)

Here's a sneak peak of what's coming later this week....

Before I go, I'm going to direct to to Ko-Jo Designs where I'm guesting today. I love that Kirstin is my friend. She's to sweet to let me guest on her super awesome blog...I feel a bit like a rookie in an arena with seasoned crafters over there, but they're nice. I made a rainbow-ish dress for Sophia that turned out super cute...go check it out.

That pin is SO you. Crazy! You are the queen bee of the organization world. Not sure where I fit in there. I might get kicked out of the hive;)

I have a binder that I love - but it could use some serious updating. Baby #2 is a few weeks away - so if I am going to get it updated, I had better got a move on! I can't wait to see more.

What size is the binder?

Also - I am not sure if I am just incompetent... but it won't let me download the leaning schedule (or even view it?) I created an Adobe account, but it says that I don;t have access to that file or it has been moved.

I am in love with the tape that you used to write the words 'boys camp' : ) I am not making a notebook! I would like to look at my calendar as few times as possible this summer! I am glad there are some great people like you in the world! We are having a happy mindless summer here at our house. : ) No cleaning lists for certain!

I want to love this binder. I really do. I mean, I do love it, but I want to be someone who would actually use it. But, sadly, I am so not. :( Every time I buy a calendar of any kind it either sits empty or I will write things in them AFTER they already happen!
Still, I love this. Maybe someday I can be as organized as you!!

i am really really going to work on planning. like really. if we had a printer, i'd so print your printables. but i loved looking at them to give me amazing ideas. i think that's part of my planning problem... just don't know where to start. oh, and somehow having kids 16 mos apart made me a tiny bit crazy! : ) can't wait to read more!!

I'm lovin this idea! Last summer we had a baby so everything was pretty mellow but this summer I have some great plans for us but I need to write them down. I also love the link back to your 6wk plan because I never thought ab out having 12 meals to rotate for 6 weeks. Awesome idea that I'm putting into affect next week!

I am so glad we have the same brain. I also love that we have the same thoughts- but you actually make them happen! I just printed out my new schedules and can't wait to put them in a cute binder. I am SO nerdy and can't wait for the other printables! Hooray for a fun and scheduled summer!
Oh and that dress! You Are amazing! I can't believe you whipped that out without a pattern! Can we have a little sewing 101 this summer? Seriously- that dress put a HUGE smile on my face! LOVE IT!
And LOVED starting my day with our fun chat!
I'm off to see what's on my cleaning schedule for today! Love you girl!

I keep thinking I need a summer boredom jar for my hoodlums... and then I realize I need teachers gifts before I make that because first things first and then I realize that I'm painting all my trim and doors white starting next week and I'm suddenly overwhelmed.

I like the cartoon and it's totally me too. Please send me some routine and structure. And a vacation!! I was gipped out of mine so I need one even more now than I did then!

Love it Love it! Our days go so much better if we have a plan in place. My days go so much better if I have a to do list, even if it doesn't all get done. Yesterday I made up a chore sheet for my kiddos and just need to make the clipboard like you made a zillion years ago on Tatertots and Jello... remember that? Well, I did, found the post and have a plan! I need to print your printables- they look wonderful- are order that binder!

As for your calendar pages... are those the Martha Stewart ones or where are they from?
