i get by with a lil' help from my friends

It is official. I have moved twice in less then five months and survived to tell about it. I would love to say that I'm super woman and this was a successful weekend because I can handle all things difficult.
That would be a blatant lie.

We have friends.
I think we have the best friends in the world.
I can name many...but this weekend was all about the Strahles and their big ol' hearts.

We had planned for them to come this past weekend anyway...but for much different reasons. We wanted them to come and see where we lived, show them Asheville...go on hikes, shop it up, eat at all the best restaurants...but our recent change of dwelling places messed with our plans a bit.
We cancelled.
They UNcancelled. They wanted to come...to help.

I love me some Strahles, but especially this weekend.

They got here Thursday evening about two hours after the movers left. I had spent the day bossing the movers. My sweet Carissa had spent the day watching my kids. It was a long day. I was bruised and sweaty. I knew the were on their way, so I grabbed a quick bath and a quick Walmart run.

They arrived bearing gifts and hugs...lots of hugs. :)

Becky pinned it and then she DID it! So cute: it was all yellow stuff; candle, Mrs. Meyer's soap, and the CUTEST apron you've ever seen!

We ate out...a lot!
Our kids were so good. They played and laughed all weekend.

Morning time was adult time. We're like old fogies at coffee time when we get together.
I love that. We don't worry about looking pretty for each other.
But after coffee time, we definitely got our work ON!
The guys moved the last of the stuff from the old townhouse and Becky and I organized and beautified the place.

Saturday morning we did take some time off the slave driving to show the Strahles downtown Asheville. You cannot come to Asheville without seeing the downtown.
We checked out shops and ate at one of Asheville's famous restaurants...

I do love me some Asheville.

After the fun, it was back to business...and there was some serious feathering to do.

Can I just say for the record that the Beckster knows how to fluff a nest????
My brain was/is fried. I cannot make decisions like a regular person right now. I needed her.
She bossed me and I needed it. We took multiple trips to HomeGoods and Target. We dug through boxes of storage that I was too tired to dig through the first time around.

My house feels like a home now.
I will share lots more pictures soon, but here's a peek because I know us blog girls eat this stuff up...

I love this girl (and the one attached to my leg). I really do.
My heart is full of overwhelming gratitude for the people God has put in my life.
I could not have handled all this without Jarrod, Carissa, Becky, and the rest of her clan.
We all need people like these in our lives.

She's my sistah, so to speak.
I've got some serious love for this girl.

This is how the weekend ended: me in an especially fluffy nest and little bird in a giant tub of bubbles...just as it should be.

Thank you for your lovely texts and encouragement this weekend...y'all are the bestest!

xo,
{alicia}

From that one picture, your new house looks more put together than my new one. My creativity is seriously lacking at this stage of pregnancy......
