Welcome to week two of The Happy Day Project.
What is that, you ask? Well, it's a little something I started for us mamas and non-mamas, to create our own little happy things leading to a Happy Day. I'm not trying to say we're hard to amuse here, people...just a little thing.
Every Wednesday I give you a challenge for the week.
You do it.
Be happy.
Take pictures of your happiness.
Blog about it.
Link up the following week and tell us all about it.
The next week I give you a new challenge and I'll show off some of your happiness from the week before.
Today's Happy Day Challenge is brought to you by the inspiration of my dad, who right now, as I get ready to hit "publish", is prepping for a major surgery. It felt totally inappropriate to challenge you to wear bright lipstick or draw outside with sidewalk chalk (although that may come) while one of my closest loved ones is going through all that business. So, our second challenge is something more along the cherish the moment lines.
Challenge #2: Drop it, Do it.
How much of our happiness comes from doing something for someone else with absolutely no gain to ourselves? Sometimes I'm feelin' it, sometimes I'm not. Sometimes I feel like volunteering at church, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I feel like turning off Parenthood to catch up with the Mister, sometimes I just don't.
My point is I really think we are blessed in our inmost being when we do something, even if it's a little thing and/or benefits us not one iota.
Your challenge for the week: drop something you're doing, even if it means you'll have to stay up late to finish it, and do something for somebody else.
Examples??
-go on a bike ride in the middle of dishes...don't finish them first!
-help that elderly lady weed her perennials...even though you just sat down to finish Mockingjay and the coffee is hot and you know she'll talk to you for 2 hours.
-talk to your husband for an hour about multiple roles that celebrities have played and what different functions the new iphone will have...even though you just sat down to finish Mockingjay.
-Paint with your babies...even though you just cleaned up the dining room table and mopped the floor.
-Call your lonely aunt...even though she'll only complain about her heat bill the whole time.
Drop whatever you're doing, and do something for somebody (a different somebody than you).
Life is short, lovely people, bless somebody=be happy!
(then don't forget to take a pic or two, blog about it, and link up next week. ;))
***********************************************
Now last week, Challenge #1, was to visit the nursery and buy something greeeeen for your house.
Heck yes! It's Spring!!
Let's see what you did! Don't forget to link to the url to your actual post, not just to your blog. Also, I'd love for you to add a button so more people can be happy :D

Praying for your Dad! LOVE your idea for this coming week. I have already done it once {took the kids to the park INSTEAD of the grocery store}, but now I can do it again!
Hope everything is going well for your Dad and your family! loved your challenge last week, love the one this week even more! Can't figure out, how to get the link going, so if you want to see my happy green pics you might have to just hop on over to my little blog baby via this comment.
ok never mind, now the link is showing!!!!
Love our next assignment.
I've been praying for you and your family and will continue to do so.
Love you girl!
Well I didn't get to do your first challenge...sorry I fear my black thumb and we didn't get a chance to get out of the house since Bud has been home. Lazy days and long walks were our focus (reconnecting after 9 weeks of his absence!)
However, I think I can manage this next challenge.
I'm anxious to see what I can do.
I don't have a vehicle most days so I'm not sure if I can just pop in and do something for someone, but I'm sure I can make some phone calls....stop cleaning to entertain the little one or the hubby.
Thank you for challenging me!
