'Ello.
Come on over for a minute. I love sprucing and I've been sprucing a bit.
I made some new pillows for my bed this week, something I've been wanting to do for months.
What do you think?
I copied my friend Carissa and made myself a little nook in my room for reading and coffee and such.
I sit in here sometimes in the afternoon and read. It doesn't happen often enough, but when it does?? Very very good thing.
Blooms from Amy on an updated thrifted lamp....makes me smile :)
This is where I blog. It's a mini-office in the living room. I like it here. I don't like a lot of stuff out, you know? So I declutter like every day. Clutter distracts me...it's not a good thing.
Ok, so what's the change, hmmmm? Well here goes.
We're moving.
Again.
Next weekend.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....ahem. (fake, sarcastic laughing)
The deal is our lease is up in June, but my landlord just sold his house and he's offered us incentive to move out early so he can move in here. And there just happens to be another townhouse for rent in the next building over. We are still not ready to buy yet and we want this to be a painless as possible and we really don't want to lose this other townhouse. So, next weekend we're hoping for a quick and easy move.
I don't think it will be that bad. (I hope) And the other townhouse has wood floors and a fireplace, so that's cool. But it has even uglier carpet than my current situation, which is hard to believe, but true.
Let's just get it over with, huh?
Ready?
Ok!!
Ready?
Ok!!
Happy weekend to you!
xo,
{alicia}
PS: my baby is turning 10 this weekend! What the heck??!!

I was thinking of you yesterday and wondering how the transition was going... wow moving again. I understand the craziness. We had to move twice when we came to Chicago, but we hadn't completely unpacked. Hope the landlord was generous.
I LOVE sprucing, too. Your cozy spots are fun.
Praying for you as you move, dearest. You can do it.
Fondly,
Glenda

yes, they probably will. :)
i would help you in a heartbeat if i could!

I am so excited to meet you! I am from Wilmington, NC originally and my husband is from Franklin, NC (very near asheville!) Its so nice to meet someone who is from NC! We moved to Charleston last year, but we frequently visit my husbands family in the mountains! Also, can we be bff...because your style is AH-MAZING! love everything about it! I just kind of want to head over to your house and share a pot of coffee with you...I hope I am not scaring you hahahah... I am not crazy I promise. So, so glad you visited my blog! I love meeting new friends...you are just so lovely!
LOVE the nook! I have a chair and I space in my room to do this. Currently said chair holds laundry. UGH! Love the pillows too! I must learn how to sew ruffles. Stat!
Happy Birthday to your sweet boy! I will be praying that the move is quick and easy! Have a great weekend. xo
Oh, so sorry to hear about the moving! I love your little spruce ups though! And a fireplace and wood floors? Sounds totally worth it to me! I actually get a little jealous when friends move...it's a chance to start from scratch with your decorating!
Oooooh that does sound painless. I don't know why but it does. Probably cause it's not me doing the packing and unpacking! But the woodfloors and fireplace seemed rather painless.... do post photos!
Love all you did... such sweetness. I don't like clutter either. Less stuff, the better in my opinion in fact, I often flip through magazines and I just mentally groan because of all the meaningless junk laying on every surface. I couldn't live like that. Ha!
Okay happy packing sweet pea.
I feel like we're all in this huddle with you... ok, ready break! We're supporting you, Friend! I hope the move goes well. I'd seriously fly myself out there and help you pack if you'd promise not to primp for me, but I know you would, so I'll just pray! :)
Those pillows look so cozy I just wanna snuggle up! Love the bee's knees print. Her work is great and I love how you have it displayed. Sounds like some great pluses to the new place. Good luck with all of that. Oh, and the decluttering thing, totally with ya on that! :) Have a great weekend!
I love love love the nook. Oy to the move. 10...wow!!
Oh how I totally loathe in town moves.
I think it's easier to move across the country!
We moved only 3 months after getting here...from an apartment to the house we are currently renting. Fortunately, we now have a 2 year lease so I don't have to worry about moving again...most likely while we are here.
Although we are set to be here for probably 3 years...so there is a 9 month gap that might cause issues...oh well better not to think about that now.
I say move room by room...Then when you walk in you'll have spots that are 100% done and feel like home instead of chaos.
Just my suggestion though!
Big hugs!!!
Biz
Love your nook girl. Looks like a perfect cozy spot. Can't wait to help you relocate that spot;). It will be fun.
It all looks so cozy and sweet love the pillows I have the perfect spont for a little something like this but have not put any effort yet. Thanks for the insporation!
your home looks lovely! i love the pillows and the lampshade.
Wow. that is pretty crazy, Lady! Hope it goes smoothly and very much admiring your go-with-the-flowness!
And I'm thinking your lovely primping about the house will look even awesomer complemented by wood floors and a fireplace ;)
