we made it!

Hooray, we are here!! Just popping in quick to let you know we survived a 1,500 mile road trip with a Uhaul, a trailer, and three kids.
It was actually way better than I thought it would be...

and because I'm overly exhausted from unpacking oodles of boxes of stuff, and can't seem to think in complete sentences, I'll just give you a list of random tidbits that have happened in the last 5 days...

@ a beautiful rest stop somewhere in missouri...
~the fact that not all our our stuff fit on the truck and the movers we hired were complete nightmares seems like a really trivial thing right now. it's just fine...and no, I'm not being my usual sarcastic self...it really is just fine.

~the fall drive was more beautiful than i could've imagined. and it just got prettier as we got closer to Asheville.

~I would've never guessed I'd be living in a townhome after owning my own house for 5 years, but I am loving it!

~we thought we would end up having to stuff our garage with overflow stuff that wouldn't fit in the house, but it looks like a miracle is happening and I might actually get to park my car in there!!

~my kids travel really well, I don't know why I'm always so freaked out of long car rides.

~I don't know where I am (well, I do but not really...it just feels like vacation) and I have no clue what day it is...

~Jarrod's first day is tomorrow...pray it goes well!

~I haven't seen much of Asheville, but what I've seen is gorgeous!!
(thank you to Melissa A. for researching her butt off and finding me a TON of cool stuff to go do!!)

~We saw not one, but TWO smooshed baby black bears on the road just outside Asheville...is that not totally sad (and freaky!?)

~the movers that unloaded our truck yesterday were FABulous!

~I hate boxes, and whenever I've moved (which is all of like twice, but still) I am obsessed till it's done! I stayed up till 2am last night and who knows tonight!! :)

~The kids' room, bathrooms, and the kitchen are all put together...that makes me smile super big!
THANK YOU to my girlfriend Stacy who suggested unpacking the kids rooms the very first thing...more on their room soon. Now they feel like they're home and not in some scary box village!

~I've seen a lot of the US in the last few days...8 states in fact...
the Arch @ St. Louis was super cool. Photo taken by Jack.

~I'm having a really fun time re purposing all my stuff in different ways. I love a challenge of rearranging/changing/organizing! yeah!

~This is Sophie in the truck...and me taking her picture. Each kid took a turn in the truck...it was funny to see :)

~I love the layout of my new house.

~I have got to have the best friends ever! Those last days in Aberdeen were like a big ol' love fest...gifts, favors, help, love, hugs, calls, texts, meals, blessings, sweet notes...my cup is runnin' over.
love you guys!

~on second thought, maybe I'll just go to bed and get some sleep instead....

rest stop right outside Asheville...

our backyard....

I'll be back with pics of our new city, new home and complete sentences...yeah!!

Love you all and thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou for all your love and encouragement these last few weeks. I am so blessed by you. thank you.

xo,
{alicia}

We were just in St. Louis for a wedding last weekend! Went up in the arch. Glad you made it safe. I think kids are better travelers then the parents or at least ours were ;)

Wow! You are amazingly talented. I loved your letter to your old house. I totally felt the same way when we left ours and also had to remind myself that it was just a house and nothing more...new memories can be made wherever and whenever I am with those I love the most. I would assume you are missing that beautiful kitchen! WOW! I believe with all my heart that when God asks us to take a leap and we do it, that he will bless us 10-fold. We are glad you're here and hope to get to know your family more in the upcoming days and months ahead.
