Before I start, can I just say that y'all know how to make a girl feel loved.
Like really loved. I loved your comments after Friday's post and I have reread them several times over the weekend. I loved your behind-the-scenes emails, texts, calls too.
I'm doing well. I know I'll have harder days than others. Thank you for helping me feel so loved :)
This is a quick Monday post, posted purely for accountability sake.
So...the last few weeks I've not felt good at all. Just really headachy, icky feeling.
You know, not like, not functioning. Just not good.
I fully realize that alot of this is probably just due to the time change, big ol' move, eating out more than normal, stress, etc.
BUT, I think it's high time I snapped my body back into some normalcy.
I think there are several key things that are making me feel under the weather
and this is what I'm going to be working on these next few weeks.
1. WATER! I do not drink enough water at all! Jarrod's always getting after me about that and I think being properly hydrated is ultra important.
Goal: 8 big glasses per day.
2. SUGAR! When I'm stressing, I just grab whatever is in sight. This, my friends, is no good.
Goal: NO SUGAR for 4 weeks. (be with me, Jesus)
3. SLEEP! I think it's just the whole circumstance thing, but I just haven't been getting enough sleep at all. Maybe the first week we were in Asheville, and me staying up till 2 am every night didn't help, but my sleep is all messed up. I bought some EXTRA Sleepytime Tea and I'm gonna drink it!
Goal: 8 hours per night.
4. EXERCISE: I don't want to totally overwhelm myself by setting ridiculous goals, but I know I need to get out and run at least three times a week. It's so much harder without my running partner in crime, Gina, but I just have to make myself.
Goal: run 3x per week
So there it is for all to see, and hold me accountable.
I'll let you know how I'm doing occasionally.
Ok, that's it. I start today!! Yeah for health and not feeling sleepy and headachy!
Yeah!
And I cannot wait to share about my weekend! Be back tomorrow! :)

cheers to health! check out chia seeds. i just started taking them and they give me a natural energy boost. and, they're an appetite suppressant and they have tons of good vitamins. check them out.
can't wait to hear about your weekend. have a fab monday!
I am back from a weekend out of town and just read the last 2 posts...so sorry for your pain, but glad you have pulled yourself up by the bootstraps and you are getting yourself out of your funk. You have just moved far away from everything you know and love....totally normal to have those melancholy feelings! Be patient + loving with yourself. You are a trouper! That comes through loud and clear and I admire you!
I hope you are feeling more settled, and that you take care of you! I like your plan. I need to drink more water. Hydration is so important!
Take care!

i'm so glad your feeling better! :) we all have our days, but the Lord knows and He will never leave us! i love your new goals...i have been doing the same thing and it is amazing how no or less sugar makes such a huge difference!{i LOVE sugar, tho} :) can't wait to follow along, girl! have a wonderful day! i'll be praying for you!

I have been feeling the exact same way lately. With the cold weather coming, the amount of activities I am taking the kidlets too and pretty much the to-do list that freaks me out when I think about it. I love your list and I think I am going to join you.
But the sugar one will be KILLER! Ack! :)
I dunno if I've ever commented, but have been following along for awhile. Sorry to hear that it's been hard - I suppose any big transition always brings challenge. I still struggle with feeling lonely and overwhelmed, being here in NC (we are stationed on the coast), far away from family in MN. Your goals are awesome and slightly inspiring, which is scary, seeing as I keep telling myself to cut sugar - maybe I just need to join you :)
good luck Alicia...i'm in the same boat. all good things on your list. thanks for the reminder. xo
You go girl! And you have inspired me! I NEVER drink enough water- so today I too will attempt to drink 8 glasses, will try not to eat as much sugar and will go to bed on time. But I can't join you with the running . . . but I'll dance with my girls this morning! Does that count?
We're trying to cut out the sugar too (except for special occasions-- birthdays and weddings coming up this and next month). Our house needs to shed some weight and gain some energy for sure.
woohoo! alicia, you'll be feeling so good in no time! i admire your steps to feeling better. i'm going to follow in your example. ;)

great goals. i know all too well how easy it is to put yourself on a back shelf when things are crazy. when my folks finally leave i've got to kick it up about 10 million notches! you go girlie. we can do it together.
i'm always hungry though.
Oh I'm right there with you! I actually had two different blood tests done recently because I couldn't figure out what the problem was... turns out it was just stress. Stress can do really strange things to your body, I've never experienced anything quite like it. I've been trying to do a better job of mentally boxing it all up and laying it at Jesus' feet, where I know it will be taken care of best. Water and sleep help a lot too! :)
I shall be cheering you on and encouraging you from across the Atlantic! And you know you're gonna feel so much better with sleep and hydration and exercise. Each morning I fill a couple of 500ml bottles with water and pop in the fridge to get cold. Then I pretty much carry one around with me and when I've drank those, I refill them. I will endeavor to join you in getting 8 hours sleep, I'm always up way too late reading blogs! Feel good soon :)
Oooh, I'm working on a few of these myself!
I'm seriously trying to up my water intake.
It's hard sometimes to take care of myself with a newborn who wants my full and undivided attention, but I know that I'll be no good to her if I get sick!
So my goal is to drink a big tumbler of water each time I pump or nurse her, that should help me get my 8 glasses!
I can't give up sugar, but I did make some healthier snack decisions when I went grocery shopping! Lots of snacks I can eat with one hand :)
As far as 8 hours of sleep a night, please enjoy some of that for me :( We get 2 hours down and 1 hour up, but fortunately we have the luxury of daytime naps!!
And exercising is still limited, but we are trying to get out for more fresh air and walks while the weather is still mild enough to do so!
I'll be checking in on you from time to time! I know you can do it!!!

May I make a suggestion??? I live in NC, moved here from Upstate NY 14 yrs ago. Went through the "homesick" phase for a few weeks, but the change in altitude, environment took a tole on me also! My MIL suggested I get a jar of locally made honey and take a tblsp a day for 2 weeks. It was amazing. My allergy type symptoms went away and I seemed to acclimate to my new home. Just a thought...it might help. Many people who move here to NC have issues w/ allergies after they get here!!
