Not wanting to make this about dieting or looking perfectly thin and fit,
I'll make this short and sweet...
I'm not sure if it's been the summer month's laziness or the heat or just my own
dragging-of-feet, but I've been a lazy bum about exercise lately.
I've run 4 half-marathons, and I say that not to be braggy at all,
it's just that I know what my body can do and I know what it's not doing...
anything.
I feel better when I exercise, preferably running.
Physically and mentally.
So, for the month of August I'm making a pact to myself to run every. single. day.
I'm not going to be too legalistic about distance or speed, but just every day I want to get up and move!
I just decided to share this as a sort of accountability tactic.
If you want to share something you're challenging yourself to do, that's great!
Wish me luck :)

Yay Alicia! The beginning of this past school year I got very lazy about exercising and food choices and felt so yucky. Now that I'm back on track I feel so much better! 4 half marathons? Dang Girl! I applaud you and your pact :o)
WOW 4 half marathons! That's awesome. I am running my first 5k this weekend and I can't wait. I recently got into running and I am slowly starting to like it. Good luck with your month of running in August. You can do it!!!
I am more of a 5 or 10K girl and have run several....I plan to join you!
I am so impressed with marathon runners...it just amazes me, the amount of dedication it takes :) Very happy for you that you are challenging yourself again! Good luck...you can do it!
Way to go Alicia! I've been thinking along those lines lately too...I ran my first and only (so far) half marathon last summer. My goal was to keep going with it but instead I took the last year off (boo)! I was just thinking the other day as my legs were hurting WALKING up a hill that it is amazing what your body can accomplish and equally amazing how quickly it can all go away! I did my half through Team In Training and am gearing up mentally to get ready to start training for another through them. Have you heard of them? They raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and do a lot of the Rock n' Roll marathons. Good luck to you!
Can't wait to get moved so I can get back on track. I am a "walker," and my new neighborhood has 27 miles of walking/biking paths. I'm so excited about that! It is a bit more of a challenge & has to be done very early in the morning here in the AZ desert, but so worth it. Good luck to you!

You go girl!
I have never been much of an exerciser- but I always feel better when I do something.
You can do it! August is going to ROCK for you! I'll be praying for some serious motivation for you! Got your tunes ready? Music always helps! :)
good luck alicia! i've been slacking too this month, but my excuse is that it's too darn hot! haha, see you back in aberdeen soon!
Get moving sister!
I know exactly how you feel.
I try to get out and walk everyday, that's the extent this pregnant belly can take ;P
Can't wait until my walks are a bit more energized and less waddle-y haha!

Good for you, Alicia. That sounds like a great plan. I've been terrible about excercising this summer too, mostly because it's been so hot.
Tricia
Great idea! Why is it that in the winter I find it easier to exercise than in the summer? Seriously, I need to start moving!
Go, Alicia, go!
Fondly,
Glenda
Right on! You go with your running self! I hit the 6-week-post-baby mark today, so supposedly I'm in the "go ahead and exercise" zone. I started P90X today. I hope that I can stick with it. I mean, I CAN! Love the accountability tactic of posting your goal. I do that too sometimes. I think that it totally helps. Keep up the getting up and moving!
even making then decision feels great doesn't it!
i've got my 3 kiddos on board this summer over the hols...every day we are exercising for at least an hour together...
what this means is the 6 yr old has gone up a bike size and rides like the wind...my10 year old rides his *pimped up* skate park scooter and my 13 and I walk/jpg/walk/jpg really really fast to keep up with them...
we're up to day 4!!
feeling pretty righteous as you can tell...
AND i love that now Audrey is 6 we can just rely on her to ride for the entire time till we tell her to stop-bless her!!
enjoy getting back into it-it's a brilliant mental thing isn't it...
