thursday: coffee, jam, and other important issues

It's been a rough one.
You can always tell it's going to be a challenging day when your husband wakes you up by whispering in your ear, "I think we're out of coffee."
Ummmm, ok.
Insert-headache and crabbiness.

Then we baked some cookies and listened to Miles Davis after breakfast.
Almost as good as coffee.
Almost.

I wanted to make sure I didn't forget to share my rhubarb jam recipe.
If you have a rhubarb plant, or know someone who does...my may want to take me up on this lil recipe...it's a keeper.

Rhubarb Raspberry Jam
5c. diced rhubarb
4 c. sugar
Combine and let stand overnight.

1 10oz. box frozen raspberries
1 Large box raspberry Jello

Combine those two with the rhubarb and simmer over medium heat.
Stir and stir till your arm is broken (serious, the recipe says that).

Remove from heat and put into clean, self-sealing pint jars.
Makes about 6 cups.

Shop talk-
Have you noticed I added a few new things to my shop?
I've been sewing sewing sewing and made up these little banners.

They're all double sided, so they can be hung across a room, or against a wall.

birthdays
girls rooms
kitchen
mantle
parties
showers
baby rooms
the possibilities are endless!

I have so many ideas in my head right now, wanting to be created...but it's just a time issue I have.
I bought the most fun fabric the other day and my brain is swirlin'!

Hopefully I get get some things done with weekend...
I also want to make some things for my own living room and do a little summery update...
hopefully I can get that accomplished this weekend too!

And check out this fabric....wait for it....

Don't you love??!! I'm thinking boy.  I'm thinkin' birthday.
Stay tuned....

See?? If we were neighbors then you could have come over for coffee. And you could have given me some of those yummy cookies and jam! :) Hope you've had some caffeine in the mean time. I LOVE your sweet banners (I just made some of those too) and I just bought some of those pom pom dingle bobs. (I think that's what they're called). I think we may have been separated at birth. Or maybe we were just meant to be buds. Have a fabulous rest of your day! Can't wait to see what you make with that yummy fabric!! Is this the longest comment ever? Maybe I should keep going and break the Guinness World Record. Ok? "So then when I was 5 . . ."

My day yesterday was just terrible... woke up late, when to work with wet hair, got home at lunch to make soup for supper, lost my cookbook and made it from scratch (it was excellent! until...), went to spend some with my boy and forgot to turn the soup down and burned it to a crisp.. ruining my big pot for good! (We went out for supper..) ARG! Just one of those days, I guess.

Today is a better day! :)

I don't know why, but I've got a real thing for banners, and yours are especially cute! Also, love the citrus colors of your new fabrics, and pompoms are always my favorite!

Sadly our rhubarb got beaten with a fierce thunderstorm and it's not in the best condition, but if we can get hold of any I'll be making jam! And just looking at all that fabric makes me feel creative.
