cool summer treats

Popsicles are on our Summer To Do list...so last week, we checked them off the list.
These are a Martha recipe...made simpler by moi.
Is it just me or does she seem to make things too complicated sometimes?
I love her, but seriously Martha...chill out a bit!

Ok...so here goes:

Make sure you wash out your blender/cups between the raspberries and the melon.
Then you pour into your molds.
Fill 1/2 and 1/2 with the berries and melon...try to keep the sides of your mold clean of the berries, so you have a nice clean line on your pops.

Aren't they pretty?
:)

Next is snow cones.
I wasn't planning on making these, but when I was doing a little rearranging in the basement Saturday morning, I found this contraption my mom gave me ages ago.
She bought it years ago, but they do have them on ebay.
I know there's lots of these in stores, but I really like this one because there's no plug-in or anything, just straight up man power runs this baby.

Add ice and crank away!

When you've got enough shaved ice, just add some flava :)

I think we made a hundred of these...or maybe it just feels like it since I did most of the ice shaving part.
Summer fun at it's finest.

Have a happy Monday,

{alicia}

Delicious and delightful. Love the freckles on your daughters nose. One of my favorite quotes on parenting is "There is no way to be a perfect parent, but there are hundreds of ways to be a good one."

Perhaps, snowcones and popsicles are two of those ways. Glad your enjoying your summer.

Fondly,
Glenda

Yes, although I am a huge fan, Martha can make things a bit more over the top sometimes. Your popsicles look wonderful, especially since I am such a huge fan of greek yogurt!

We are going to have to make these! Hayden was sitting with me while I was looking at your post and he said I want a popsicle about 10 times, I guess this will be something that is happening sooner than later! Hope you guys are having a wonderful summer!

the Popsicle idea sounds so good! the snow cones - the little cone paper is adorable. i just can't do the "flava" like you call it. too sugary for me! but i'll put that shaved ice in one of those cute cup thingies!
