I bet you thought I was blogging away last week, typing up those Etsy features...not even close :)
My crew and I took a much needed vacation to an island getaway.
Probably not the island you're thinking of...
I read about this place called the Outer Banks in North Carolina about a year ago in my Family Fun magazine.
It looked like so much fun and had sooo much history there that applied to what we were studying in school.
I knew we HAD to take a kick-butt field trip to the Outer Banks.
And did we ever have a great time!
We did so much in seven days, I thought I might just fall over.
It was the good kind of busy, where you can't wait till you get to the next thing.
We spent every afternoon (but one) on the beach and found some pretty interesting things.
We brought home a PILE of seashells and PILES of memories.
I have a ton of photos to go through and a ton more loads of laundry to get to.
I cannot wait to tell y'all all about it.
Ya...I heard a lot of y'all in the past week.
I decided I like it and might just keep it. Y'all is a great word.
Here in South Dakota, we usually just say "you guys"...referring to both guys and gals.
But y'all covers both sexes and takes less effort than "you guys" so I think it should hang on for a while.
I've missed y'all so much!
I feel like we have so much catching up to do.
I feel like we have so much catching up to do.
On the plane today, I made a list of all the posts I have in my head and...well, I have a lot of writing to do.
Ok, see you tomorrow, y'all.
xo,

after two college summers in south carolina, i firmly switched out "you guys" for "y'all". it just rolls off the tongue. :)

Welcome home and welcome to SUMMER!!
I'm so so sad I missed y'all. ;) Any chance that you'll ever return to lovely NC? Come to Appalachia next time for a very different vibe. They still say y'all up there. Guaranteed.
So excited to know you had a blast in North Carolina!
That is where we will be moving next month so I'll have to check out that area!
We say y'all here in Texas too and I think I originally picked it up in Georgia when I was a kid. It irritates my Dad, but hearing people say things like, "Y'all come back now ya hear"! Makes me smile ear to ear!
Hope you have a relaxing week post vacation, that transition can be trying sometimes ;)
Can't wait to see more of your pictures!
Biz
the beach is just beautiful! i can't wait to hear all about it!!
So glad you had a wonderful vacation at the beach.
I am from Tennessee and probably had y'all as one of the first words that ever came out of my little southern mouth.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time! Can't wait to see more pictures!
ooh can't wait to see more! so glad you're home:)
I am so happy you enjoyed your vacation with your family. I have been to North Carolina many times, but never to the outer banks. I can't wait to read all about your trip!
That's a place I've always wanted to go ... looks like you had a great time.
Yay you made it to the Outer Banks! I'm so glad y'all (yes it's a wonderful word) has a wonderful time. Perhaps after hearing about your trip this native North Carolinian will venture there :o)
