I shared a few weeks ago that I was feeling bad about the art dept. at our school. ;)
I happy to state that I have drastically improved art class in the last few weeks.
We've been so good the last two years of homeschooling about doing a schedule art class
once a week...this year it's been seriously lacking.
So, last month I sat down with my lesson planning book and found fun art projects to do all
the way through May.
Here's what we've been up to:
{Mixed Media Birdies}
We used crayons to outline and watercolors to fill in our drawings.
That counts as mixed media, right?
That counts as mixed media, right?
{Easter Lilies}
The kids used their hands to make the flower part, then we used paper for leaves,
straws for stems, and pipe cleaners for stamens.
I found this project on Family Fun.
{Stringy Bowls}
I found this project on 1825.
It's really similar to the nest project we did a while back.
I love how they turned out.
So that's what art class has been like lately.
Today we're working on a fun project with popcorn...can't wait to show you!
Have a great day :)

That is wonderful that you encourage your children in creating art. Love all those birds especially.

i saw the handprint craft in family fun too, it looked cute, and even cuter from your little's...we may have to try that. i don't know about you, but if i want any mother's day crafts, i have to make them make me a craft!! that just seems so wrong...
Those birdies are masterpieces deserving of your art wall upstairs(I think its upstairs). I have a surprise to show you if I ever get around to blogging about it :) I love art!
Love the projects. What kind of lesson planning book do you use? My oldest is approaching kindergarden age so it's time to figure all of this out!
Oh how my kids loved "projects" when they were little. Looks like you are having fun, too.
Fondly,
Glenda
Doing art projects is one of my favorite parts of school- yet I rarely fit them in our day. I think by the time all the other subjects are done, I don't have enough energy to tackle glue, glitter, paint,
. . . oh my! Thank you for inspiring me to get creative with my girls!
