Hello and welcome to tea time at my house.
If you were here for real, I'd probably be telling you what a bad mother I was yesterday,
I was really edgy...cranky...my kids were driving me bonkers!
(I'm blaming my hormones.)
Is that bad right after I just had the coolest thing ever happen to me?!
Well, I'm better now.
I had a date with my treadmill and
then my friend healed me with vitamins.
(thank you, Dara!)
(thank you, Dara!)
Ya, it was just one of those days...
I hardly spent 5 minutes alone before my kids were awake...making me feeling scattered from the get-go.
I tried to be fancy and French braid Sophie's hair, because French braids are always better than regular.
I say tried because I'm not very good at it.
I think I could be better if I had a less squirmy person to practice on :)

Oh, but I did buy a new bag for myself and I'm happy about that :)
I've decided to participate in National Unplugged week.
Ya, real smart of me, huh?
It's a national thing to challenge kids to do other things besides watch tv.
Oh, and we also made the decision to unhook our cable for the summer.
We never watch tv in the summer and we'll save a ton 'o money.
(Please assure me I will be ok without this luxury.)
Very fun little tradition...I'm excited for Easter and I have a few fun projects to show you that we did for art.
I realized yesterday that I'd been out of vitamin B for over a month and how it was really affecting me. I take a least two a day if I'm being really good, and I ran out and forgot to refill.
Not good, but my friend Dara hooked me up and I felt better in no time.
So today, I got up early...took my B's.
It's a new day.
I'm so glad we have new days.
Thanks for coming over.
I'm glad you let me rant a bit.
What are girlfriends for?
:)
:)

Urghhh, think we all have days like that! Aren't vitamins great, I've just started taking them and I feel so much better! Hope you're having a happy day today; hope the sun is shining for you :)
When IS Nat'l Unplugged week?
I think it would be a huge challenge
in our house with a 12 and 16 year
old! You can't believe how much
they use it for homework! I have
been out of town for a few days and
nearly jumped out of my seat when
I saw your name in Country Living--
Congrats, sweetie! Glad you are
feeling balanced again. I am a huge
believer in vitamins, exercise and
giving yourself a break. You are
such a great mama!
xx Suzanne
I am intrigued by this vitamin B :) What are the benefits that you experience? I know I could research it on the internet but I would like to know what you think. I exercise regularly but I don't take vitamins. Good for you unplugging your tv! We should give it a try too!
Fresh starts . . . new days . . . are great aren't they. But I do think it is good to be honest with our kids about our not so great days . . . as they will have them too. You are a lovely mom. (and famous, too.)
fondly,
Glenda
ps. would you like me to mail you the super cool page from my country living?
i'm supposed to take the b's, but i never do. so, the last time i was at costco, i picked up a package of zipfizz...do you know? well, it has like 46,000% of your b vitamins for the day. so i'm doing it that way. it is expensive though! i'm glad you're feeling better! and i still need to get a copy of country living!!!
We all have our off days and yesterday was yours. The good thing is that today is a new day and you are feeling back to your normal self!
I'm interested in the benefits of vitamin B too! What is it good for?
Have a super stupendous day!

Wishing you a much, much better day today! We all have bad mommy days. You're allowed :D
I absolutely love that mug!! I am a mugaholic and a coffeeaholic :D I understand about your kids driving your bonkers!! But go you on the courage for no tv :D
you can do it! we don't have cable...but we do watch A LOT of movies;)thanks for the tea!
hi lovely!
you DON'T need cable- i live with two seriously sports obsessed boys {yep one is the hubster!} and we have NEVER had cable...oh yes i hear the moaning and they come up with great *reasons* why together, that our lovely fairly un-techy household NEEDS cable- but none of it sits right with me!
No cable....if it's not on free to view tv...which is pretty great in both oz & the Uk then you go listen to it on the radio!
and vitamin B is a god send is it not!
melissa xx
p.s-in bed with a very poorly little audrey- and on the laptop about to upload my virtual coffee- i love this day in the bloggy week!
We did not have cable for almost 2 years! we finally got it back last fall because we found out our internet/phone bill was cheaper if we added basic cable! You can definitely live with out it. The internet or my computer, prolly not! I have been a cranky Mom as well lately...I blame it on the weather! you need your vitamin B, I need my vitamin D!! Have a blessed Easter!
I gotta say that I'm pleased that you're also a hat tea drinker. Glad your day was better today. When I'm at school and don't have time to myself before they arrive I get totally thrown off and super grumpy. At least you're just grumpy towards your own kids ;o) Did you get your purse at Target? I looove it.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that has those days! :) On days like those I'm always think of the verse, "His mercies are new every morning." Thank you, Jesus!
So, the Vitamin B? I've never taken it before. Does it really make that much of a difference for you. Maybe I should start. I'd love to hear more!
Love the french braid. I cannot WAIT for my daughter's hair to get a little longer!
Oh, and thank you for reminding me of the Resurrection Eggs. I need to find where I put ours. Can't wait to hear about your art project!

We have tried unplugged in the past. It is really hard to do.
I love your french braid, new bag, and coffee mug this week.
hi there!! I have been having a little blast looking around your blog -- and it's almost 2am, and now i'm all jazzed up about history and craftiness and coffee and everything else, LOL!
I found you by way of your Evan-Moor history pockets review at Curriculum Choice tonight. (many, many minutes ago, lol) Once I got here, I just couldn't leave!
so thanks for sharing here :)
Thank you much for sharing what vitamins they were...I NEED to get those....I've been so snappy with my kids lately!!! So, do you really like the Shaklee B-Complex...can you get it at Wal-mart, or do you have to order it online?
The TV....seriously girl, you will NOT miss it. We have not had TV since we moved here 3 years ago from NE. There is so much else to do, we wonder how we ever got anything done with a TV going!!!
I missed your tea time, so sad. I was having a caramel macchiato on my way to finish my painting. Doesn't that sound fancy...lol. I really am not as cool as that sentence sounds.
