Last Tuesday was a very special day at our house.
(wow! can it really have been a week already?!)
It was super special because it was my nephew Chrisian's
1st birthday.
We take birthdays very seriously at our house, so when my brother asked me if his party could be at our house,
I was so excited.
Since Christian lives far far away from SD,
being able to host his very 1st birthday was an honor. :)
I so wanted to make this day special and fun.
And it was both.
We had sundaes, cake, and crayons...what more could a 1-year-old ask for?!
Sophia was more than happy to help me get ready.
Sometimes I still picture my younger brother as the little boy that was always trying to spy on my friends and I...seeing him as a dad is still wierd to me.
But he is so good at it.
Jesse's got big plans for his boy.
Like teaching him how to work hard and be a good man.
Showing him right from wrong.
And how to be a 'straight shooter,' as Jesse would say.
Yes.
He's an excellent daddy.
He's an excellent daddy.
I love to watch them together.
Dads and sons have a very special bond.
I love these boys.
Despite a complicated situation, there is no lacking in love here.
When we're with Christian, we squeeze him, kiss his cheeks,
tickle his little toes,
play with him,
love him up till he's wiped out.
My mom's a sucker for crayons.
The woman can't help herself!
She'll color for hours if you don't stop her.
Moments like these kinda make me want to go back,
see my babies this small again.
Or maybe have another one to do that 1st birthday all over again.
That first year goes so fast.
They change so much.
They change so much.
Happy Happy Day, Christian.
We hope we loved your little tiny socks off!
It was a blessing to throw your your very first birthday bash.

You can throw a great party. He's a doll. I love all the fun decorations and that slate board is awesome. I saw that yesterday I think and was in love. What a good auntie you are:)
What a sweet party...and what a sweet little face. So happy you got to share this important day with him.
I can't imagine a "1" year old party being any better! Love the banner and your mom coloring is too funny! I probably would have sat by and colored with her :) You throw a great party!
Have a great day!

What a colorful and creative party. I'm sure it was as fun as it looks!
Saw your comment on Sasha's post and came to visit and ended up staying a while. Now a follower...and fellow homeschool mom.
Blessings,

Isn't being an auntie GREAT?
Kind of like what it's
going to be like to be
a grammy, someday : )
If love is in the details,
you love this little guy
and your brother BIG time.
Happy Tuesday, Alicia!
