sweet day

Yesterday was a very sweet day...literally.
I think we consumed about about 3lbs. of sugar...each.

Yesterday was baking day with my mom.
We didn't want to be working all day long, so we didn't do the whole sugar cutout thing.
I will next week, but yesterday was fun...

Here's a peek....

Sophia: working hard to cover her pretzels in chocolate.
She was so particular...it was funny.  Such a little mama :)

Then here's what the big mama's made:

My mom was feeling especially bossy yesterday and "made" me make all these recipes I'd never tried before.
Like Mexican tea cakes and peanut brittle and carmels.
We dipped the ends of our carmels in sea salt....so so SO yummy!

Everything turned out so good.  I like making up little platters for friends and neighbors.  So now I have lots of fun things to give.
When I was junking last week, I found the best little vintage tin trays to give away my goodies on.  Can't wait to put those together.

How bout you....do you bake a bunch for Christmas?
I have a very sweet-toothed husband that "requires" me to bake a bunch...back to the kitchen for me :)

Have a great Friday!

I'm so jealous that you can do that with your momma. Do you know how blessed you are!? All those goodies are making my mouth water. Seriously my stomache is officially growling...YUM!
