In an attempt to teach my kids to be more thankful this month
and to appreciate the little things more myself,
I came up with a fun little project....
It's pretty easy...pretty basic.
Just gather some cool looking sticks and put them in a pretty container.
And gather up your prettiest papers.
Cut out a bunch of leaves...you can do several shapes if you want.
Punch a hole in them and string some twine through.Let this pretty display sit out all of November and have your family members (including Mom and Dad)
write what they're thankful for on the leaves and hang 'em up.
These things can be fun or just plain sweet things...
like carmel rolls
or
playing catch with Dad. :)
Ok, that one's mine ;) That was a silly one! (but I seriously love those socks!)
We made a fun project last year you might was to check out HERE.
Also...for November, I'm going to do something a little different in my posts.
To keep myself in check a little bit, I'm going to list something I'm thankful for at the end of every post.
I hope you'll join along too...maybe comment about something you're thankful for or add it to your blog posts :)
so....
Today I'm thankful for....
the nummy-smelling beef stew that's simmering on my stove, all ready for a comfort food feast :)
Love the food this time of year!
blessings,

Okay you just stated two things I'm thankful for...comfort food and those awesome socks. WHO KNEW! Love your little leaf tree. What a great idea:) Almost copy worthy...wink, wink;)
Great little tree. I did something similar today that I will be posting about soon.
I'm thankful for all the wonderful bloggers willing to let others take a peek into their inner lives with God, showing others their creations, and sharing a part of their true selves.
Love the leaves and thank you for responding to my last comment.

Hi ALicia-
I just love these leaves. I think I am going to make them for my Thanksgving placecards and use my paperclip idea as their holder. I love all the colors of the papers you used on your tree.
My best- Diane
What a wonderful idea! Your tree is lovely in both thought and presentation.
Hi there~ What a fantastic idea! I love it and think this is a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing this at Feathered Nest Friday! :)
I love your idea of mentioning something that you are grateful for at the end of each post! We so often forget to remember our blessings! I think I'm going to try that, too!
Love the vignette, and I love the idea!!
