Busy Week

It's been a loooong week. My family and I have been in Egypt.
Well, not quite...our church's Vacation Bible School was in Egypt and it was a wild week! This was my 4th year planning VBS, so you'd think I'd be used to it by now, but by the end of weeks of planning and a week of nonstop action, I'm pooped!
Four years ago, our church wasn't going to have a VBS and that just was not going to work for me. So...I did some research and found an awesome publishing company that creates the coolest VBS programs. So in the past 4 years we've been to Galilee, Jerusalem, Rome, and now Egypt. It is set up with a Marketplace with fun shops, then the kids went to Pyramid Playground to play games and they visited Joseph from the Old Testament.
Here's the gateway to Egypt:
The first night, the kids visited Joseph in prison....

...then the palace.
Joseph was famous by the end of the week.
Our marketplace was awesome this year. We had a brickmaker, embalmer, a salon, jewelry shop, and hieroglyphic shop and food shop.
Even the guys got into their parts in costume AND make-up.
The salon had to be one of the favorite shops. The kids got their make-up done, hair braided, made headbands, and the boys got a shave :)

Seriously, the kids talk about this for months! It is a lot of work, but they make it worth it.
I even persuaded my sweetie to lead a group (for the past 4 years!).

It's a family affair...it's something the kids are looking forward to each summer.
Our church has amazing people that never cease to help out. These are some sweeties that helped out all week in the Marketplace.

So yes, I'm pooped, but it was a great week...and so worth the smiles and hugs I get all week :)

Blessings...
