We've finished up with our several-week study of Ancient Egypt. We covered Pharaohs, Egyptian architecture, daily life, religion, and mummies. I used this book by Evan Moor publishing as my 'spine' book for this unit. I used some other resources, but this one was our guide to what we studied. It's great using these books because when you're done, you have a beautiful book to show off all your hard work!Here's a peek into ours:
{cover}
{sample of Egyptian dress...you can't really tell from the pic, but their garments are made from tissue paper}
{mummy art....here's the sarcophagus}
{the second coffin}
{the mummy inside}
I love teaching this way...lots of hands-on...lots of literature...tons of fun! I wish I was taught this way!

Now we're moving on to a quick week in Greece, then a quick week in Rome. After about a week's break, we're going to tackle a unit on world cultures and take a little trip around the globe.
